The Pink City

The Pink City

Jaipur or ‘The Pink City’ is the capital & largest city of Rajasthan.  The centre is extremely vivid & is filled with camels, elephants, cows, riksja’s, temples, forts & palaces.  In the typical markets of the old city people & colors blend nicely together and seem to have an artistic touch over and over again. We wandered around in the authentic narrow streets and had the impression to come across various live paintings behind every corner… An incredible journey!

Afterwards I visited the must-do sights of Jaipur with a friend such as the City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Wind), the Observatory Jantar Mantar, the wonderful Jal Mahal or Lake Palace, Monkey Temple in Galta & last but not least the amazingly beautiful Amber Fort just outside the city overlooking the city of Jaipur.  In the Monkey Temple, a bunch of Indians asked us if we would accept to have some pictures with them.  Those guys were just one out of many as many Indians would come with the same request.  This one became very funny & almost seemed to be a photoshoot…
