In mother’s Theresa footsteps…

With Deepak & Shayandeep on the night train to Kolkota

On the nighttrain to Kolkota, my last destination in India, I shared a cabin with 2 Indians. Shayandeep, 27, works for a consulting agency in Lucknow and was on his way to his sisters wedding. Deepak, a slightly older man and research scientist in Bombay aka Mumbai was attending a conference in Kolkata and a friends’ 60th birthday afterwards. We talked for hours about the differences in our culture, traditions, food culture, travelling and so much more. An otherwise long & boring trip became suddenly a really nice encounter.

Once in Kolkota, previous known as Calcutta, I had only a few hours before my flight to Cambodja. After a short breakfast, where I met another nice local who also lived in Mumbai but came for some paperwork in his hometown, I wandered around in the old city, walked along the Ganges riverside & visited some of Kolkota’s main attractions such as Victoria Memorial, Fort William, Eden Garden, Mother Theresa’s house,… The day became quickly to an end & so was my Indian journey. A new adventure awaited me in the kingdom of Cambodja.
